Gulf 750 Norton
Built for a customer. The customer gave us a totally free hand, the only Priviso being he wanted theLamb Emgineering touch.
Ally fairing, tank seat etc. Frame was modified from a Norton Wideline.
The Engine is a 1970 750cc which has been totally rebuilt by Norman White Andover.
The front hub is of unkown origin but is believed to be from the 1950,s the rear hub was originally cable operated but I found the cable run between the rearset and hub too short. We overcome this by machining a complete new backplate etc and making the rear brake fully floating,it now works great.
front forks are Hayabusa USD .Modified to take the Hub restraining arms and Mudguard. This Mod was fairly straight forward .The yokes are 205mm centres with 60mm offset.Made by ourselves.
Both front and rear wheels have new excel rims with st st spokes.19x2.25 front and 17x 4.5inch rear.
All the bodywork is in 2/2.5mm alloy rolled on English Wheel by Tony Taysom.Tony works at our unit full time and is fast gaining a reputation for producing that special Tank or fairing.
rear shocks are Hagon gas units 13.5inch long
Standard Norton 4speed box
Norvil belt kit with guard by ourselves
We tried to leave some original parts ,the levers are Tomaselli with the front brake lever modified to take a floating two cable arrangement.Works very very well it feels as good as any disc set up .
The paint has been done by Joebys Airbrush Art .The customer left all paint decisions to us .I in turn left all decisions to Joeby as I am crap at paint although i did suggest the GULF colours. The only thing Andy the owner insisted on was union jacks on the bike ,there are several.
Speedo and Rev counter are original Smiths units from the donor bike with housing from Lamb.
